Didja miss me?

It's been awhile, dA.
I'm a junior in high school now, and I'm doing great.

Significant changes since the last time I was on dA:

I got a haircut! It doesn't sound like much, but once you've grown your hair for four years, that's a lot of hair. 14 inches, to be exact, and all of it went to Locks of Love (wigs for kids with Alopecia who can't grow their own hair)

My cat Boots died But he was old, (older than me (16)) and it was his time. He couldn't see, he was in pain... he's in a better place.

I have a new cat! His name is Rome, and he is a pest, but we do need a cat around the house to (a) keep balance (with 3 dogs) and (b) he catches mice! (Boots taught him well!)

I have ... birds! Well, my mom is an animal aficionado (aficionada?), and so the count rises. Our house is known as the Animal Menagerie. Oh, but anyway, my bird's name is Kiwi, and his parents (my mom's) are Mango and Tango, and they are Orange-faced lovebirds.

We're bird-sitting! For an extended period of time, we're helping one of my mom's friends (she has many, folks) by taking care of her birds while she gets back on her feet. I can't remember their names, but they are in Spanish, and they are two Conures, and one Cockatiel.

What hasn't happened yet:

I can't drive yet
I don't own a car (but I'm thinking about the Honda Element)
I still don't have a real job, but I'm working on it (I get odd stuff sometimes, like yard work from my grandparents)

So, I'll probably post journals more often than anything else, because I have NO SPARE TIME. Ever. Except for Fridays. Oh well.
